Hoch family: I just received the paper from my mom (always a few weeks behind) and saw where your dad had passed away. My heartfelt condolences to all your family. I know he was instrumental in helping my dad (Lawrence Meis) in getting the John Deere business started. He was always a huge Yuma supporter! Prayers for all of you.

One great guy. A Yuma institution.

Dear Hoch Family,
My wife, Bonnie, and I were very saddened to learn that both Dick and Kay passed away this year -- and Dick just days ago.
My father, John Sweda, served in the Merchant Marines on the same ship with Dick during WWII, and they remained friends for over the next 50 years though they lived hundreds of miles apart. (I think that on Bonnie's and my wedding day, my father was perhaps almost as happy that he was getting to see Dick after more than 35 years as he was to see his own son's wedding.)
Though my dad - who passed in 2005 - was not a golfer, I'm certain that he and Dick have already met up at the 19th hole and have caught up with one another.

With heartfelt condolences,

Tom and Bonnie Sweda
West Bloomfield, MI

P.S. I have uploaded a photo of Bonne and me with Kay and Dick, taken at their house in early September 1984 just days after our wedding.
