Dolores 'Dode' June Balderston Luellen passed peacefully with her daughter by her side on August 1st at the age of 85. She was born on Easter morning, April 20th, 1930, in Yuma, CO. She attended Yuma school from 1-12th grade. At the local roller-skating rink she met the love of her life, Jed August Luellen. They were married on October 10th, 1948 in the Yuma Presbyterian church where Dolores was an active member and baptized as a child. They were happily married for almost 52 years before Jed passed away in May of 2000. They are greatly missed by their 3 loving children, Chuck, Katie, and Fran. Dolores was a member of the Yuma American Legion Auxiliary for 34 years. You would often find her and Jed there on a Saturday dancing the night away. She was also a member of The Waverly Home Demonstration Club for 23 years. She loved to crochet, make crafts, and sew. She would often say "Just don't take my sewing machine or serger away and I'll be just fine" Her and her sisters have spent timeless hours together making various projects. Dolores spent all of her younger life in Yuma. Then in 1988 she moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to her two grandchildren, her pride and joy. She returned back to Colorado in 1999 where she lived with her son Chuck in Keenesburg. In 2007 she returned with Chuck to Pennsylvania. She wanted to live with her daughter Katie, so she could be surrounded by the love of all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family was very important to her. She missed the mountains of Colorado but missed her family more. She knew one day she would return to be by Jed's side.

She is preceded in death by Husband Jed August Luellen; Parents Clyde and Katherine Balderston; Brother Gerald Wayne; In-Laws Hobart and Anna Luellen; Brother In-Laws Harvey Luellen and Curtis Franson; Nephew Vernon Franson; Niece Susan Baughman She will be remembered by her surviving family 3 Children Charles Luellen of Moon Twp, PA, Katherine (Joseph) Demicheli of Moon Twp, PA, and Frances (Wayne) Swiger of McHenry, MD; 2 Grandchildren Crystal (Dave) Barr of Moon Twp, PA and Dustin Swiger of Dallas, TX; 2 Great Grandchildren Nathan and Lily Barr of Moon Twp, PA; 2 Sisters Arnitta (Dennis) Mumm of Yuma, CO and Darlene (Jack) Williams of Gays Mills, WI; 2 Sisters In-Law Arlene (Bob) McCracken of Keenesburg, CO and Betty Franson of Yuma, CO; 4 nephews,8 nieces, 7 step grandchildren, and 12 step great grandchildren Arrangements have been made at the Baucke Funeral Home in Yuma, CO.
