Obituary for Peggy Leona Dilka

Peggy Leona Dilka, 59 years old, of Yuma Co, passed away on June 16, 2016, of natural causes related to health issues while in her home.

Peggy was the youngest of three siblings born to Robert and the late Colleen (Morris) Dilka on November 11, 1956, in Wray at the community hospital.  She grew up in rural Yuma County and attended school through 12th grade.

Peggy lived her lifetime, always surrounded by many many friends.  Peggy’s support system meant a lot to her and she poured out her integrity to them and expected it back fully.  Peggy had several professions over her lifetime such as work at Mustians grocery store in Yuma, The bird seed factory in Otis, working at a minor league baseball field in Phoenix AZ, and selling retail locally in Yuma.  Peggy had a desire for electronics and could install a car stereo or CB radio better than anyone.  Peggy also had a deep affection for music, something her beloved mother instilled in her.  She never heard a song she didn’t enjoy.  Through these past few years Peggy loved social media and especially facebook.  She connected with old and new friends from afar and connected with family that she had never met but loved just the same, she spent much time designing pictures for her family and friends while on facebook and took great pride in making them just perfect.  For example, one of her pictures was full of smiling sunshine’s faces and it said “ Send these smiles to anyone who made you smile, somewhere, sometime in your life…thanks a lot for making ME smile”.

Survivors include,  father Robert of Yuma, CO; sister Donna Shaffer, of Yuma, CO; niece Kim (William) Harman of rural Akron and their children, Lacie and (Mitch) Denney of Otis, CO and Wyatt Harman of Akron; nephew Nickolas Shaffer and son Ryder of Yuma, CO; niece Nichole Shaffer of Baltimore, MD; niece Stephanie Dilka of Sterling and daughter Sianna; niece Chelsea (Tyrel) Hoatson of Christmas Valley OR and children Tylynn and Bodey; niece Lana Dilka of Paxton, NE and daughter Serenity, and her “adopted” Bradley girls, and beloved sister in laws Leona and Jeanelle; plus her prized chihuahua’s; Buddy, Bandit and Tiny.  Peggy was preceded in death by her mother Colleen Mae, brother Steven Dilka and great niece Cadence Shaffer.

Funeral services  were at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Otis Colorado on June 22, with Pastor Scott Bieker officiating. Inurnment followed in Eckley Colorado. Pall Bearers included; Nickolas Shaffer, William and Wyatt Harman, Mitch Denney, Rob Sullivan and Mike Sotelo.  Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.
