Evelyn Marie Rhoades

Evelyn Marie Leighton Rhoades, only child to Delmar and Coryl Leighton was born on March 26,1929 in Westboro, Missouri.  

At ten months old, Evelyn moved to Flagler, Colorado with her parents and later moved to the Akron, Otis and Yuma areas.  

She attended school and church in these areas and graduated from Lone Star High School in 1946.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Jacob Daniel Rhoades on June 20, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Fleming, Colorado. 

Jake and Evelyn settled in the Lone Star Community where Evelyn raised 5 children, enjoyed farm life and drove the school 

bus for 29 years as well as being the beloved cook for 30 years at the Lone Star School

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Coryl Leighton and Lewis and Clara Rhoades.  By her beloved son,

Dean Rhoades and precious grandson Curtis Rhoades as well as her son-in-law John Good.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Jake Rhoades, her daughters Mary Rhoades of Johnstown, Colorado, Carolyn

Good of Loveland, Colorado, Sally Albert and husband Vic of Athol, Idaho, Dot Longmore and husband Mike of Fort Collins,

Colorado as well as seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. 

Evelyn passed away on August 31, 2016 at Yuma Life Care Center at the age of 87.  Evelyn will be dearly missed by her

family and friends.  The funeral services were held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Yuma, Colorado with Pastor Sharon Strauss officiating.  Interment followed at the Yuma Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
