Wilda Jean Benson

Wilda "Jean" Benson- age 92 of Haxtun, Colorado, formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Haxtun Health Hospital, Haxtun, Colorado. She was born December 16, 1927 to Maple and Cecil (Bobbit) Chinn in Coats, Kansas.

 Jean was one of 12 siblings raised on the Chinn Family Farm in Coats, Kansas.  She lived a long and beautiful life driven by faith and family and also impacted countless lives through her career as a social worker in Denver, Colorado.  Her infectious energy and love will be dearly missed.

Jean is survived by one son, Danny Steinman of Camarillo, California; son-in law, Ronald D. Sporing of Colby, Kansas; bonus daughter, Kim Steinman of Emerson, Iowa; one sister, Lila (Chinn) Lee, Phoenix, Arizona; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Maple and Cecil Chinn; son, Robert Dean Steinman; daughter, Melinda Jean Sporing; daughter-in-law Cheryl Steinman; former spouses, Luke Steinman Jr., Doyle Dean Wolfe, Donald Benson; sisters: Mildred Chinn, Mary (Chinn) Worley, Leona (Chinn) Steele, Margaret (Chinn) Shickell, Vida (Chinn) Stegman, Shirley (Chinn) Powell; brothers: Wiley Chinn, Lewis Chinn, Jack Chinn, Harold Chinn; one grandson, Curtis Sporing.

A private memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date.
