Wayne Vincent Scott

Wayne Vincent Scott, 87, passed away in Haxtun, Colorado, on June 13, 2025.  Wayne was born on January 1, 1938 in Sterling, Colorado, to Lyle and Jessie (Whitney) Scott. 

Wayne graduated from Fleming High School in 1955.  Wayne married Doris Schaefer on August 24, 1957 in St. Peters, Colorado. He received an Associates degree from the Colorado School of Banking in Aimes, Colorado

Wayne worked as a banker in Sterling and Fleming for about 10 years.  His passion was living on the family farm, growing crops and raising cattle.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Jessie Scott, his wife Doris Schaefer Scott and his daughter Terrie Scott Abraham.

Wayne is survived by his children Julie (John) McGrath and Dona (Jack) Willmeth; six grandchildren Brandon Abraham, Taylor Abraham, Jake McGrath, Jessica McGrath, Kent (Megan) Willmeth and Dawson (Chloe) Willmeth and two great-grandaughters Amelia Willmeth and Stella Willmeth.

Funeral and memorial services are on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10:00am at the Church of the Brethern in Haxtun, Colorado. Interment followed at the Haxtun Cemetery.
