Wayne Merle Gleason

Wayne M. Gleason was born on September 16, 1926 to Frank and Anna (Lantis) Gleason in Wray, Colorado.  He passed away at his home on March 17, 2023 at the age of 96.

Wayne attended the Yuma schools graduating with the class of 1944.  Following high school Wayne served in the Army from 1945 – 1946. 

Wayne married Patricia (Tolbert) Gleason on August 22, 1948 to this union one daughter, Linda was born.  Wayne and Pat were married for almost fifty-nine years before Pat passed away on December 8, 2007.

Wayne owned and operated Gleason Motor Company from 1946 until his retiring and closing the business forty-eight years later. 

Following his retirement, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf. 

Wayne served on the Yuma Fire Department for over twenty years along with Yuma City Council and planning commission for many years. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Gleason; wife, Patricia Gleason; brothers: Howard Gleason and Warren Gleason and infant brother, Joseph Gleason.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Linda and husband, Roger Iverson of Tremonton, Utah; granddaughters, Jennifer and husband, Shane of Midland, Texas; Heidi and husband, Doug Ashton of Thatcher, Utah; great grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, Dakota, Kaitlyn, Linda, John, Wyatt and Roger; great-great granddaughter, Layla; Lady  friend; Donna Applequist along with many other relatives and friends. 

Inurnment was at the Yuma cemetery.  Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
