Tina Workman Obituary

Tina Elaine Workman was born at Wray Hospital in Wray, Colorado on October 4, 1964 to Linda Elaine Workman and Rodney Glen Workman.  Tina attended K-12 schooling in Yuma, Colorado.  It is here she made several close bonds with several people.  Her mother, Linda, passed away when Tina was very young so she bonded very tightly with some of the community.  The people of Yuma helped Rod raise Tina and her older brother Dennis “Denny” Workman.  She was loved and known by just about everyone.  She was a cheer leader and played volleyball.  She graduated from Yuma High School with the class of 1983.

Tina then moved to Arizona and attended the Lamson’s Business College.  Tina then moved back to the Yuma area where she reconnected with Robert Mathies and they married November 2, 1985.  Tina and Robert then had two girls, Britney and Jessica.  They raised the girls in Yuma until the couple divorced.  Tina and the girls then moved to Loveland, Colorado.  In Loveland Tina ran a big fuel station where she bonused every single month and was the top manager for the length of her employment with Whitaker Oil.  Tina then did some convenience store work in Wyoming, Eaton Colorado, and she did a bit of work in distribution with a company in Denver.  Tina also did a newspaper route that she loved.  She really enjoyed the scenery of the mountain route she had and often got to see some amazing wildlife.  Tina then made her way to Haxtun, Colorado to run the Haxtun C-Store with Grainland Cooperative.  It is here she made many connections.  Tina loved getting to know and feed the high school kids at lunch.  She mentored several people and students.  She eventually moved to a supervisor position where she overseen Haxtun, Holyoke, and Ogallala stores.  As you can imagine the same love and mentorship followed to each community.  Tina would often be heard saying, “No that wouldn’t benefit my customers, No that would affect the community to greatly.”  She always made sure to participate in community events like Old Fashioned Saturday Night, Cornfest, Harvest Bags, and Cruise Night.  Tina loved going to the lake with her family, going on trips with her kiddos, the beach, and rocking out.  Her favorite man, “THE MAN” Bob Segar and AC/DC were her favorite jams.  Tina adored her two daughters, her animals, and her employees.  Tina loved her work, her customers.  She was a very dedicated woman and mother.

Tina Workman entered Heaven on December 26th, 2019 very suddenly and unexpected, but we know she went very peacefully in her sleep with no pain.  Tina Workman is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Linda and Rodney Workman, her brother Denny Workman, and many other relatives.  She leaves behind her oldest daughter Britney “Bug” Hartman and spouse John Hartman, Her baby Jessica “Hessa” Steward and spouse Rex Steward, and many loved ones.

Tina was our Rock.  Tina was our Heart.  Tina will be remembered and carried in our hearts for as long as we live.  Love you to the moon and beyond Mommy!
