Stanley Ray Sunderman, 61, of Otis, CO passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 24th, 2021, in Rapid City, SD.  Maurice and Shirley (Groshans) Sunderman welcomed their son on January 26, 1960, in Akron, CO.  Immediately after his birth, he was transported in Charles Callahan’s Cadillac to Children’s Hospital in Denver, with Mr. Callahan travelling over 100 mph.  That was the start of Stan’s love of fast cars.  Stan stayed in Children’s Hospital for the first six weeks of his life.

His parents farmed near Anton until 1966 when they moved north of Otis and Sunderman Farms began.

Stan was a proud Otis Bulldog, President of the FFA and graduated with the Class of ’78.  He was a popular wedding singer in the 70’s and 80’s.  After high school Stan went to Aims Community College and then worked for Seedorf’s in Yuma as a mechanic for 7 years.  Stan believed crops should be green & tractors should be red.  He returned to the farm in 1987, investing his life work into building Sunderman Farms.

Stan met Denise in 2007 and they married in 2017.  He enjoyed farming, fast cars, Mexican food, Dodge pickups, sharing good times with his friends and traveling with Denise.

He is survived by his wife Denise Sunderman (Younger), stepchildren Jennifer (Ryan) Morgan, Kennedy, of Loveland, CO, Leslie (Kevin) Mason, Teagan and Cooper, of Merino, CO and Devin (Amber) Hase, Asher and Bently, of Sidney, NE.  And his sister Sandy (Joe) Armstrong of Grand Island, NE, nephew, Adam (Rachel) Armstrong, Zeena of Grand Island, NE, niece Jessica (Bruce) Wagner, Isaiah and Jonah of York, NE, and nephew Aaron (Morgan) Armstrong, Annika and Olivia of Grand Island, NE.  Stan was predeceased by his parents and brother David.
