Rudolph "Rudy" Adolf Obituary

Ralph was born to John and Martha (Stahlecker) Adolf on November 11, 1927 on the family farm north of Bethune, CO. This area was originally a German settlement and Ralph only began learning the English language when he started school. He was the oldest of four children.

He and Lois Wood were married on October 29, 1950.  They had three sons Wesley & Wayne (twins) and Rudolph Jr. Lois passed away shortly after their third son was born.  He and Barbara Preuss were wed on July 28, 1956 and had one son Jerry.  They began their married life together in Brush, CO then later in Idalia and Fort Morgan.  Ralph began employment for the State of Colorado as a Port of Entry Officer in 1956 and retired in 1984 as a Port of Entry Supervisor in Fort Morgan after 27 ½ years of service.

He passed away on November 20. 2020 at the age of 93 after a short illness. Ralph was an Army Veteran, 50-year member of the Wray Masonic Lodge #71 AF&AM, Past Master of this Blue Lodge and member of the Colorado Consistory, and active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Otis.  His hobbies were traveling with his wife Barb of 64 years, fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, square dancing and playing guitar.  His passion was spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.  He never turned down a chance to wrestle with his grandkids even when they got big enough to get the upper hand.  When he heard the news, grandson Will said “he’s wrestling angels now”.  He will be sadly missed by friends and family.
