Ronald George Hutton was born Ronald George Alexander in Clayton, Kansas, on September 28, 1936, to Arden and Mary Alexander.  Hours after his birth, Mary passed.  Arden, being young and ill equipped to care for his infant son alone, handed him over to his maternal aunt and uncle Myrtle and Granville Hutton.  Ron was raised and loved by the Huttons on the family farm near Kirk, Colorado.  His childhood was typical of those raised in rural America in the World War 2 era, filled with hard work, family, and love of country.  Ron competed in the dairy division in 4-H, and he enjoyed sports, particularly baseball--and fast-pitch softball as an adult--where he played catcher.  Upon graduation, Ron joined the Army, serving his country from ’55 to ’59.  Shortly after joining, Ron changed his name from Alexander to Hutton.  The Army identified him as Alexander, but Hutton was the only family and name he had ever known.

Honorably discharged, Ron came back to Kirk to farm with Granville, whom he affectionately called Daddy.  In June of 1959, he married Alma Jean (Henry) Hutton and was added into the brotherhood of the Henrys.   To their marriage were added three children, Marvin Dean in 1963, Mark Eugene in 1967, and Peggy Jo in 1975.  They made their home east of Kirk where Ron farmed, ranched, raised hogs, drove school bus and loved his family.  Ron was a devoted family man, always at church with them on Sunday mornings and home every night unless on a bus trip with Liberty students.  In the 80s Ron went to work for Stratton Equity Co-op.  He retired in the fall of 2003. In 2009 he and Alma moved from the farm to Burlington, Colorado, and then in 2022 they moved to Limon, Colorado, to be closer to family.

Ron was a hard worker and tackled every project imaginable—carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, wiring--most of the time in conjunction with family and neighbors.  He embraced his community and helped when and where he could.  Ron enjoyed playing cards and fellowshipping with family and friends.

Ron was never a complainer.  Even when times were hard and his health was poor, he never grumbled.  Ron joined his Lord and Savior on November 8, 2025.  He will be greatly missed.

Ron is preceded in death by birthparents Arden and Mary Alexander; parents Myrtle and Granville Hutton; siblings Marion (Ima) Hutton, Geraldine (Bill) Richards, Wilma (Maynard) Higgason, Granville, Jr., (Judy) Hutton, Burnetta (Alvin) Langendoerfer, Wanda (Keith) Donald and Arden Dale (Dianne) Alexander; in-laws Ralph Henry, Roy and Doris Henry, and Lois and Norman Grauerholz.

He is survived by his wife Alma Jean Hutton, son Marvin and wife Susan Hutton, son Mark and wife Gina Hutton, daughter Peggy and husband Joshua Niebur; grandchildren Alexander Hutton, Shelby Hutton, Abriel Niebur and Caleb Niebur; in laws Norma and Bob Pickerill and Lois Henry; half-sister Charlene Rotert, and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
