Ricky Irl Prottsman

Ricky Irl Prottsman, age 55 of Holyoke, Colorado passed away on May, 7th 2023.

Rick was born June 28, 1967 to Byron and Nancy (Fisher) Prottsman in Holyoke, Colorado.  Rick was baptized at the Holyoke Baptist Church at the age of 13.  Rick attended school in Holyoke, where he was active in sports, as well as leadership roles.  At the age of 15, he went on a mission trip to Finland where he served building a youth church camp.  Rick managed the Haxtun Swimming pool and was an active lifeguard throughout high school.  After graduating from HHS in 1986, he attended Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs. Rick joined the Navy in March of 1988 where he was stationed on the USS Camden in Seattle, Washington.  He was honorably discharged in 1992 and later moved back to Holyoke to work with his father, Byron at Moonlight Electric. 

In 1992, Rick met Brenda Krueger also of Holyoke, Colorado, the two got married on May, 7th 1994. Their first born, Brittney was born in 1995 and they welcomed their second daughter, Brook in 1998.  Rick’s family was very important to him and everyone was a friend.  He met many along the way and truly cared about everyone! 

Rick is survived by his wife Brenda, his two daughters Brittney Lee (Brett Green) and Brook Layne, his grandchildren Oaklyn Bee and Kyler Byron Green.  His mother Nancy (Fisher) Prottsman, sister Dawn Taylor (Brian) of Hastings NE, two nephews Tennesy  and Preston Taylor as well as many other family and friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his dad, Byron Prottsman and in-laws LeRoy and Eunice Krueger.

Rick was a lifetime member of VFW.

The funeral service will be on May 12, 2023 at 10:00a.m. at Baucke Funeral Home, 1220 SW Interocean Drive in Holyoke.
