Peter Eric Newton, age 60, passed away on December 31, 2025, in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born in Wray, Colorado to Gary Newton and Theresa Newton (Kain).
Pete was a hardworking, self-employed farmer who was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to his boys. Known for being ornery in every way, Pete had a sharp sense of humor and loved teasing his kids—especially his two daughters—as well as his nieces and nephews. His playful nature kept everyone on their toes and brought laughter wherever he went.
Pete also loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, something he looked forward to and cherished. Beneath his tough exterior was a man with one of the biggest hearts you could ever find.
Like many, Pete experienced seasons of hardship, but he never lost his heart or his will to keep going. He was a fighter in every sense of the word and never gave up, even when the road was difficult.
He is survived by his loving mother, Theresa Newton; his children: Brandon (Talya) Newton Kyle (Ashlynne) Newton, Cayleen Newton, and Tera Leifheit; and his cherished grandchildren, Amaya and Alayna. He is also survived by his brothers, Joe Newton and Michael Newton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, Gary Newton; his brother, Troy Newton; and his grandparents on both sides of the family.
