Nancy Prottsman Obituary

Nancy I. (Fisher) Prottsman, 82, of Holyoke, Colorado left this world to be with the Lord on March 11th, 2026 at UC Health Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO.

Nancy is the daughter of Francis Fisher and Shirley Peckham Fisher, born June 28th, 1943 in Holyoke. Nancy married Byron Prottsman August 6th, 1966 and she spent her entire career working at Health & Human Services.

Nancy and Byron built their home on County Road 20 outside of Holyoke, where she created a life centered around family, friendship, and caring for others. She was known for her generous heart and her constant willingness to take care of those around her. Whether it was through a warm meal, baked goods from her kitchen, or simply being there when someone needed support, Nancy made people feel loved and welcome.

She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and was always happiest when she had people gathered around her table. Nancy also loved playing golf and was known for joking that she played “without a single drink of alcohol because she was there to compete.” Her sense of humor and competitive spirit brought joy to those who knew her.

One of Nancy’s greatest passions was genealogy. She deeply cherished learning about where she came from and discovering the stories of the generations before her. She took pride in preserving her family’s history and sharing those stories with loved ones.

Above all, Nancy loved her family and those around her. Her devotion, kindness, and strength will be remembered by everyone who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her beloved daughter, Dawn Taylor, husband Brian, Hastings, Nebraska, grandsons Tennesy & Preston Taylor, partner Hope, and great grandson Paxton Taylor, Tonganoxie, Kansas, granddaughters Brittney & Brook Prottsman, great grandchildren Oaklyn & Kyler Green, of Holyoke, sister Debbie Ross, husband Harley, Chappell, Nebraska and several nieces and nephews who will continue to carry her memory and love in their hearts.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Byron Prottsman, son Ricky and daughter in law Brenda Prottsman, brothers Doyle and Albert Fisher, sister Francis Riley and Linda Carrick, and her adored parents Francis “Pete” and Shirley Fisher of Holyoke.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Baucke Funeral Home in Holyoke, Colorado with viewing from 8:00-until service. Memorial contributions can be made to Dragons Wagon Preschool or Holyoke’s Booster Club.

Nancy’s legacy of love, care, and connection to family will live on through the many lives she touched.
