Nancy Lee Phillips passed away November 17, 2019. Nancy was born November 4, 1954 to Delwin Thomas and Iva Dell (Solomon) Phillips of Elizabeth, Colorado. Due to injury during birth causing severe Cerebral Palsy Nancy was total care, without speech and confined to a wheel chair. Nancy was taken care of in the home by her mother Iva Dell and later her sister Joyce, but spent the last 12 years of her life at Hillcrest Care Center in Wray, Colorado where despite her disability she was able to touch the lives of many of the residents and nurses.
Iva Dell took Nancy to the Cerebral Palsy Center in Denver every day for over 20 years and she had so many wonderful experiences there learning and interacting with others. The highlight of her summer when well enough, was to attend Easter Seals Camp at Georgetown. A hot air balloon ride with cousin David was another special time, embracing it with enthusiasm like she did any special event. During her time at Hillcrest Care Center, Nancy enjoyed the activities, fishing, going to the fair, parades and especially swimming weekly at the WRAC.
Left to mourn are sister Joyce (Kurt) Musgrave of Yuma (Joes) Colorado, niece Renee (Andy) Cochran of Henderson, Colorado, nephew Josh Musgrave of Yuma (Joes) Colorado, many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends that will miss her very much.
