Michael Wade Miller, age 64, of Holyoke, Colorado, passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 13 th at his home. Michael was born on Saturday, October 14th, 1961 to Leland and Marilyn (Hahn) Miller in Holyoke, CO. Mike attended all twelve grades in Haxtun Colorado and graduated with the class of 1980. He attended Northeastern Junior College and earned a degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Wyoming. He worked for Bamford Land Co., VY Trucking and then taught Vo-Ag at Wray and Holyoke High Schools for a combined 20 years. While teaching at Holyoke, he also started farming the same land that his father farmed prior to his father’s death in 1986. He eventually retired from teaching so he could farm full-time, for ten years. He also had a backhoe and welding business, a custom spraying operation, and most recently, a trucking business. Mike competed in team roping and steer wrestling in the PRCA, either winning or placing in several major rodeos and team roping competitions. Mike loved riding good horses. He was privileged to own some very special ones in his lifetime and enjoyed making good horses out of the yearling colts his dad would buy each fall. Mike is survived by his mother Marilyn Miller of Paoli, CO, sisters Melinda Groshans of Paoli, CO: and Melissa Evans of Lemoyne NE; his twin brother Mitchel (Julia) of Parker, CO; nieces Lacey (Mitchel) Williams of Elm Creek NE; Lindsey Miller of Aurora CO; nephews Grady (Lacie) Groshans of Paoli CO; Garet (Chrissy) Groshans of Galeton CO; Ridge (Taylor) Evans of Lemoyne NE, Gade (Makenna) Groshans of Holyoke CO and Jake Miller of Denver CO; great nieces Canyon Evans, Lainee Groshans and great nephews Karder Williams, Wesson Groshans, Knox Williams, Colt Groshans, Kowen Williams, Ryatt Evans and Sutton Groshans. Mike is also survived by his beloved Marlene Dirks, her daughter Ashley (Michael) Hoffner and son Brady (April) Dirks; and Marlene’s grandchildren Bryson, Dathyn, Brody and Dax Dirks; and Jenna, Connor and Jade Hoffner.  Mike was preceded in death by his father Leland Miller and his brother-in-law Ronald Evans. 

There has be a Memorial account established in Mike's name at the Holyoke Federal Credit Union.
