Mary Kathryn (Todd) Jones

Mary Kathryn Jones moved to her heavenly home on April 2, 2021, at the well-lived age of 93. She was born August 12, 1927, in Iola, Kansas, to B. Franklyn and Lola Todd. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Fort. Collins.  Mary graduated from Fort Collins High School and worked at the Poudre Valley Hospital as an assistant dietitian for a few years before marrying Hubert Jones on June 19, 1953.

Mary and Hubert moved to Holyoke from Fort Collins in 1970 where Hubert worked for Roth Farms. Mary attended the First Baptist Church and enjoyed Bible study and reading about the places that are mentioned in several Biblical stories. She enjoyed playing games like Yahtzee and Chinese Checkers, especially with her grandchildren. In her later years she loved word search books. Mary had quite the collection of cookbooks and was always on the lookout for that elusive perfect dish that would satisfy everyone! She would often finish her phone conversations with her children with the question “What are you having for supper?” Mary loved pink carnations and pink roses! She enjoyed talking with her granddaughters, nieces and nephews and was considered the unofficial family historian by many in the family. She kept track of family, friends and acquaintances and their life events by cutting out newspaper articles and saving the letters written to her and placed them in the many envelopes scattered around the house. Mary was interested in people’s lives. She will be missed!

She is survived by her husband, Hubert W. Jones, children, Kathy Lopez of Holyoke, Wesley Jones and wife Claudia of Denver, and Linda Boughman of New Zealand; granddaughters, Brittni and husband Joe of New Zealand, Sasha Lopez of Holyoke; and great grandchildren, Sebastien and Sylvester of Holyoke, Joshua, Eliott, and Bryleigh of New Zealand.

Graveside service will be held on April 14 at the Holyoke Cemetery.

Arrangements are being made through Baucke Funeral Home in Holyoke.
