Manda “Mandi” Lynn Unger

April 8, 1993 – February 18, 2026

On April 8, 1993, the Lord blessed Jim and Laurie Unger with a beautiful baby girl, Manda Lynn Unger. Born at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, she entered this world with light and fire—qualities that would forever define our Mandi.  Mandi passed away on February 18, 2026 at her home in Denver, Colorado.

Born just shy of two years after her brother Jamie, Mandi embraced her role as a sister with pride and devotion. Three years later, she was happily promoted to “big” sister to her brother Britt, a title and role she carried with love.

In childhood, Mandi could be described as many things: a gymnast, a cowgirl, a hunter, a girly girl with her perfect ponytail—but above all, she was a bubbly spirit of fire whose roar of laughter could be heard for miles.

During high school, Mandi participated in gymnastics, volleyball, track, band, clubs, and was adored by many. She possessed a contagious energy that drew people in from all walks of life. Across different ages, interests, and towns, Mandi built lasting and meaningful friendship.

Mandi graduated from Yuma High School in May 2011 and went on to attend University of Denver that fall. She transferred to CU Denver where she completed the program in three and half years.  She was as intelligent as she was joyful, earning her Criminal Justice degree in December 2014, graduating on the Dean’s List and served as Vice President in the CU Denver Pre-Law Society.

In August 2015, she was accepted into the University of Oklahoma College of Law, a lifelong dream. Though her path evolved, the knowledge and experience she gained there enriched her journey and future endeavors.

Over the past eleven years, Mandi worked at various jobs in law, criminal justice, insurance, sales, and management embracing each role with curiosity and passion. True to her nature, she pursued many interests and wore many hats—never confined to just one path. 

Her greatest pride in life was her family. Her mother, Laurie, became her best friend and never left her side—a devoted mother in every sense of the term. Her father, Jim, loved her unconditionally. Her brothers each played different roles in her life, but their love never wavered. Her grandparents thought the world of her and cherished her deeply. Mandi had a deep, loving connection with her nephews and nieces.  

Mandi is survived by her parents Jim and Laurie (Tribelhorn) Unger; brothers Jamie (Kelsie) Unger of Yuma, Britt (Courtney) Unger of Yuma, nephews Arlo, Harvin, Barrett and Brigam and nieces Ru and Nellie; grandparents JR and Carole Unger of Yuma, and Skip and Elaine Tribelhorn of Yuma; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

Mandi is proceeded in death by her grandparents John and Teresa Anderson, and Uncle Brandon Anderson.

Mandi loved passionately, lived fearlessly, and felt deeply. She was light and fire—bright, warm, and impossible to overlook. Her spirit touched every life she entered.

Manda Lynn, may we always feel your warmth.

Funeral Service – Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Southern Baptist Church in Yuma, Colorado.  Interment followed at the Yuma Cemetery and Pastor Jonathan McMillan officiating the service and Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
