Lewis William Thompson III

Lewis William Thompson III was born January 21, 1956 to Lewis W. Thompson Jr and Alice (Hildebidle) Thompson in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.  He passed away on April 22, 2024 at the age of 68.

Lewis attended Perkiomen Valley High School in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. 

Lewis married Elizabeth (Krise) Thompson on July 24, 1982 in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. 

Lewis was the owner and operator of L & M Forklift Service for the last eight years.  Lew worked for numerous other forklift companies since 1974.  He was regarded as one of the best in the industry by those he worked for and with.

Lewis was an avid race fan and raced stock cars in the late 70’s and 80’s then he picked it up again in the mid 90’s.  He was always on the hunt for classic cars and enjoyed finding and restoring all makes and models.  He was never not doing something.  He always had a project that he was working on. 

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis W. Thompson, Jr.  and Alice Mae Thompson.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Krise Thompson of Yuma, Colorado; daughter, Dallas (Michael) Ely, granddaughters, Holley and Ava Ely of Haxtun, Colorado; sisters, Judy (Don) Fretz, Eden, North Carolina; Diane, (Bill) Riley of Coatesville, Pennsylvania along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service – Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Baucke Funeral Home in Yuma, Colorado with Pastor Michael Fitzsimmons officiating.
