Larry Robert Jelneck of Eckley, Colorado was born on July 11, 1947 to Harry Albert and Ione Hazel (Kile) Jelneck in Almont, Michigan. He passed suddenly on October 19, 2025, at the age of 78, while visiting the Eckley Bar and Grill after suffering a heart attack.
Larry graduated from Capac, Michigan on June 3, 1965. Larrry was a Veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard having served for six years until receiving an honorable discharge on July 31, 1972.
Larry married the love of his life, Patricia Jane (Miller) Jelneck on September 12, 1987 under the church steeple at Lake Yuma. They were blessed with thirty eight years together.
While Larry’s resume included many jobs he was the most proud of his time at the Yuma County Road and Bridge Department from May 2001 – 2019. He then retired to begin a New Chapter in his life.
Larry had a passion of collecting and selling toy tractors but was just as happy to leave it all behind for a weekend of camping by the water.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ione Jelneck; brothers, Harry Jr., Calvin, Donald and Orvy and sisters, Joan Holcomb and Dorothy Wright.
Larry will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia J. Jelneck of Eckley, Colorado; daughter, Sheryl (Dan) Brower of Southgate, Michigan; sons, Todd (Christy) Jelneck of Metamora, Michigan and Michael Jelneck of Tomball, Texas; Stepchildren, Eric (Kellie) Palmer of Glendive, Montana and Laura (James) Marrs of Kersey, Colorado and Kelly Palmer of Pampa, Texas; sister, Nancy Hunter of Kimball Township, Michagan; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Holcomb of Center, Colorado along with twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be a Private Ceremony at a later date.
