Kristie Jean Pelle

Kristie Jean Pelle of Holyoke, CO. Born to Donald and Mary (Burhoop) Brackhan on 7/1/1958 in York, Nebraska. Died 12/5/21 in Loveland, CO. Age 63.

Kristie worked at Holyoke Elementary School as a special education interventionist. She worked at the district for 19 years. She started Kristie’s Katering from her home kitchen in the late 90s which allowed her to share her passion for cooking and baking with the people around her. Kristie took over Donmar’s from her parents which later grew to be the landmark in the town now known as Blisties.

Kristie was a dedicated member of the Zion Lutheran Church as well a Sunday School teacher for a number of years and served on the board of education as well as other committees. 

She lived her life for her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her world. Kristie loved to bake, cook, crotchet blankets for her grandkids, golf, and be surrounded by the ones she loved.

Kristie graduated from Holyoke High School in 1976 and then graduated from Northeastern Junior College in Sterling. Later on in life she went back to obtain her elementary education degree and graduated from Colorado Christian University.

She lived her life in service to others through the church, the school, and her everyday activities. Kristie was selfless in every aspect of her life. She had a smile that could brighten any room and encouraging words for anyone she came across. Her lifelong dream was to experience life as a grandma and that dream came true with the birth of her four grandchildren.

Kristie is survived by her daughter Chasity (Landon) Shaffer, son Broc (Heather) Pelle, brother Brad (Sherri) Brackhan, and sister Misty (Gordon) Hielscher, all of Holyoke. Niece Nicole (Jared) Moore of Longmont, nephews Ryan (Jill) Brackhan of Holyoke and Remington, Dylan, and Cooper Hielscher of Holyoke. Her grandchildren Hailey and Tyson Pelle and Barrett and Sawyer Shaffer as well as 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.

Kristie is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Mary Brackhan, her grandparents, and a number of aunts and uncles.
