Joyce Darlene McCallum

Joyce Darlene (Morrison) McCallum was born on April 1, 1939 to Thomas “Roy” Morrison and Florence Bell (Jobbins) Morrison in Benkelman, Nebraska.  She passed away on August 21, 2023 at the Haxtun Hospital in Haxtun, Colorado at the age of 84. 

Joyce graduated from Yuma High School in Yuma, Colorado with the class of 1959.

Joyce married Richard John McCallum on January 17, 1964.  They spent just over fifty years together before Richard passed away on December 16, 2015.

Joyce raised six children and she was a loving mother that overcame many challenges during her life.  She enjoyed gardening, raising turkeys and loved to cook, making homemade bread was her specialty. 

Joyce was preceded in death by parents Roy and Florance Morrison, her husband, Richard McCallum; brothers, Lawrence, Orland, and Joseph; sister, Phyllis; grandchildren, Jordan Mahnke, Blye McCallum, Thomas McCallum and son, Michael McCallum.

Joyce was survived by her daughters:  Darlene and Bruce Mahnke of Haxtun, Colorado; Madelaine and Jeff Lamm of Sutherland Nebraska; Elaine and Gene Daly of Glendo, Wyoming; sons: Glen and Ranae McCallum of Holyoke, Colorado and Gary and Andrea McCallum of Holyoke, Colorado; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends. 

Funeral Service – Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Baucke Funeral Chapel in Holyoke, Colorado with Pastor Mike Brown officiating.  Interment – Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, Colorado – August 26, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
