JoAnn Helen Stein was born on November 24th,1935 to Milton and Loraine (Weis) Weiss in Holyoke, Colorado. She passed away with family by her side on October 5, 2022, at the age of 86 at her residence in Loveland, Colorado.
JoAnn married Larry Stein on March 9th, 1958, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holyoke, Colorado. This union was blessed with three children: Brian, Cheryl, and Eric.
JoAnn had a few jobs during her life. She worked at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke as well as at a dental office. The job she enjoyed the most, and excelled at, was being a homemaker. She enjoyed providing meals and a clean house for her family. She also enjoyed hosting and welcoming family and friends into her home.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holyoke.
JoAnn was full of joy and never tired of talking with and spending time with people she loved. JoAnn enjoyed a good card game with friends or family. She was always glad when she could convince Larry to take her to Blackhawk to go gambling. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and reading. A trip to the gas station always included a few scratch-off lottery tickets.
She and Larry loved going out dancing together.
JoAnn will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Larry Stein; parents Milton Weiss and Loraine Koch; stepfather Rolland Koch; siblings, Larry Weiss and Thelma Roggenbuck; brother-in law Bob Roggenbuck; and daughter-in-law, Pam Stein
JoAnn is survived by her children, Brian Stein of Cheyenne; Cheryl Hunt of Ft Collins; and Eric Stein and wife Christie of Ft Collins; her siblings Georgia Hinck, and husband Gene of Holyoke; Dallas Weiss and wife Judy of Brush; and Ron Koch of Holyoke; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on October 15th at 10:30am at the Holyoke Cemetery in Holyoke, Colorado with Father Jerry Rohr officiating. Baucke Funeral Home will be directing the service.
