Elsie Mae (Maine) Fisbeck was born April 27, 1934 to Lester and Elsie Margaret (Dottie) Maine in Burchard, Nebraska. She had one brother and two sisters. In her younger years she grew up and went to school in Venango Nebraska, later moving with her family to Haxtun, Colorado where she graduated from high school. She was baptized in the Christian faith at a young age and has been a long time member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke. After graduating she worked at the bank in Holyoke. On Valentine’s Day 1954 she married her loving husband, Leo Fisbeck. To this union four children were born, Steven, Ronnie, Larry and Lennie. She and Leo lived in Paoli, Colorado where they were blessed to share sixty-six years of marriage to one another, and watched their family grow.
Elsie was a wonderful mother who enjoyed caring for her family, giving special attention to each and every one. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved sewing and her special hand work, which were beautifully done, and sharing it with the special family and friends in her life.
She enjoyed helping with the Phillips County elections for many years, serving at the town hall in Paoli. One of her passions was bowling, which she truly loved. She had a lot of friends who were very dear to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Elsie Margaret Maine, son Ronnie Fisbeck, brother Eugene Maine, and sister Bonnie Biesemeier.
Elsie passed away on December 29, 2020 in Holyoke, Colorado. She is survived by her husband, Leo Fisbeck of Paoli, CO; sister Onna Lee Ready and husband Woody of Arizona City, AZ; brother in law Quentin Biesemeier of Haxtun, CO; sons Steven Fisbeck and wife Wendy of Gill, CO, Larry and wife Cynthia of Windsor, CO, Lennie and wife Tillie of Holyoke, CO. Grandchildren Wesley Fisbeck and Laura of Lafayette, CO, Preston Fisbeck and Danielle of Fort Collins, CO, Kaylene Elsie Fisbeck of Loveland, CO, Kyle Fisbeck of Byers, CO and Lisa Fisbeck of Denver, CO; her great grandchildren Landon Fisbeck, Dexter Fisbeck, Naudia Fisbeck, Reed Fisbeck, Elsie Cobb, Jasmine Fisbeck, and Brodie Fisbeck; cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service was held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke, Colorado with Pastor Gary Rahe officiating. Interment followed at the Holyoke Cemetery, Holyoke, Colorado. Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
