Daniel “Dan” Henry Ross, age 54, passed away June 6, 2026 in Colorado Springs, Colorado surrounded by his family. He was born October 15, 1971 to parents Paul Lee Ross and Bernice Marie Cruickshank in Wheatridge, Colorado.
Dan graduated from Weld Central High School before completing a degree in Ag Diesel Mechanics at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. He then moved to Yuma, Colorado to work for Case IH. Dan married his beautiful wife, Brenda, on June 20, 1998 at the Nazarene Church in Yuma, Colorado. Eventually, Dan went on to start Center Pivot Irrigation where he worked on irrigation sprinklers in the Yuma area.
Dan was someone who never met a stranger. He didn’t just look for the best in people, it was what he saw. He devoted much of his life to serving others and the community through various clubs and organizations as well as through personal efforts. From a young age, Dan was involved in 4H and FFA. He was a proud member of the Colorado Young Farmers Educational Association and the Yuma School Board. Dan was an active member of the congregation at Yuma Christian Church and spent many hours volunteering his time to help the community.
Dan was a loving husband, devoted father, and doting grandfather. He always made it a priority to have time with his family by cheering on his wife at summer softball, attending as many of his kids’ extracurricular activities as possible, and spoiling his grandkids at every opportunity. In addition to his parents, Paul and Bernice Ross, Dan was preceded in death by his brother, William Ross and niece, Tanya Winkler as well as grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ross. He is also survived by his children Brittany Castillo and her husband Tito and daughter Iris, Courtney Hess and her husband Darian, and Joey Ross and his wife Brooke and daughter Sadie. He is also survived by his sister Anne Rose and her Husband Phil and their family and his brother John Ross and his wife Trish and their family. Dan is survived by his mother in law Joyce Partch and sister in law Jeannie Griggs andher son Drake.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday June 20, 2026 at the Irrigation Research Foundation- 40161 CO-59, Yuma, CO 80759 with Don Smith officiating and Baucke Funeral Home making arrangements
