Chris Bieber Obituary

Chris Henry Bieber was born April 2, 1931, in Sedgwick, Colorado at the home of his parents, John and Dora Sinner Reuter Bieber. He passed away at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke, Colorado on January 4, 2022, at the age of 90 years and 9 months.

Chris was married to Janice May Intermill Bieber on December 12, 1955, at the Presbyterian Church in Sedgwick, Colorado. They had five children, Debra, Chris Wayne, Rocky, and twins, Barbara, and Brenda.

During Chris’s sophomore year in high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he was awarded a letter and commendation for his outstanding performance with the USS PHILIPPINE SEA during the Korean War. He completed his GED while serving in the military. He returned home to continue his life-long career of farming sugar beets and Chris was awarded a High Ten Sugar Beet grower for many years. He also raised beans and corn.

Chris enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of his cucumbers. He enjoyed working with metal in his shop and reading about history.

During his life, he enjoyed playing cards; especially pitch which he enjoyed playing every Sunday with his great granddaughter, Taylor Woodhams. He enjoyed watching western movies and listening to Johnny Cash. He kept up with farm markets and enjoyed having all his grandchildren and great grandchildren visit on the farm and “hanging” out at the Pumpkins and More Pumpkin Patch.

Chris is survived by his wife, Janice of the home; Sister-in-laws Catherine Reuter of Broomfield, CO, Dorothy Reuter of Plymouth, CA, and Mildred Bieber of Big Springs, NE;  five children, eleven grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren including:  Debra (Alan) Colglazier, Eric Nickell of Holyoke, Kory (Michelle) and Mateo Nickell of Rosenberg, TX; Jaydin (Emily) Goldenstein of Severence, CO; Taylor (Cody) Woodhams of Ovid, CO and Trey Bennett (Shaylin McClellen) of Bennett, CO;  Chris Wayne (Susan) Bieber of Holyoke; Rocky (Barbara) Bieber of Holyoke, Jackie (Toby) and Emma Thompson of Holyoke, Brett (Heather), Aubrey, Laityn, and Brayger Bieber of Holyoke, Lindsay (Bryce), Jayce, Mason and Kelbin Boerner of Haxtun, CO; Barbara (Gary) Hart of Ulysses, KS, Leslie (Derek) Lorlovick of Oklahoma City, OK, and Charles Hart of Ulysses, KS; Brenda (Rick) Daniel of Holyoke, Dylon (Brittany) Brodyn and Dawsyn Daniel of Holyoke, Travis (Carly), Haeden Mae, and Kort Daniel of Holyoke; Emily, Sophia, Mila and Eli Daniel of Holyoke; and Annie Daniel (Michael Bastin) of Holyoke along with a host of nephews and nieces.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora, granddaughter, Leah Nickell Bennett and grandson, Christopher William John Bieber. Siblings, Dan (Marge) Reuter, Walt Reuter and Alex Reuter, Elsie (Jake) Gross, Lily (Alex) Sittner, John (Velma) Bieber, Albert (Lois) Bieber, Robert (Phyllis) Bieber, Reinhold Bieber, and Harold Bieber, Rose (Jake) Hofsetz, Carey (Tony) Petrillo, Helen (Carl) Royce, and Pauline (Ralph) Evans.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Baucke Funeral Home in Holyoke from one to six p.m. The funeral will be held at Baucke Funeral Home on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Interment following at the Holyoke Cemetery. Dan Kafka, Holyoke Church of Christ, is the officiating minister.
