Charles “Paul” Lynch of Yuma, CO, passed away February 27, 2023, in Yuma. 69 years old, Paul was born on June 10th, 1953, in Niles, Michigan to Lee Lynch and Bessie Turner Lynch.

In 1971 Paul graduated from Beebe High School in Beebe, AR. After high school, he joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. After serving our nation, Paul worked in the oilfields on the western slope of Colorado. Paul attended Northwestern Community College in Rangely, CO, where he obtained his pilot's license.

While in western Colorado, Paul met Marilynn Witte. The two were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Yuma on November 8, 1975. To this union came three children: Jonathon, Elisabeth (Nicki), and Jeremy.

Paul worked in different jobs throughout the years, but is probably best known as a truck driver who hauled Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. He drove other types of trucks in many other industries in northeastern Colorado and at a time owned his own trucking business. For a time he worked as custodial staff in Yuma Middle School. Also, Paul did some time in the Yuma County Jail, working as a jail deputy and achieving the professional rank of Corporal.

Paul and Marilynn fostered several children, which later brought him much joy seeing those individuals develop into adults and community members; always considering them a part of his family. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school at Buffalo Grass Nazarene Church in the Clarkville area of northern Yuma County. He loved taking cruises and had taken several with Marilynn, especially throughout the Caribbean. His time with his family and grandkids was especially cherished by Paul and he thoroughly enjoyed watching their sporting events and programs. Paul loved to bring people together while he was driving the truck using phone group chats involving several different truckers and sometimes family members. And lately, Paul had been seen with his dog Dug the Pug; both usually finding their way into mischievous circumstances.

Paul is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marilynn; son Jonathon, his wife Ashley, and grandsons Cayden, Conner, and Carson of Yuma; daughter Elisabeth, her husband John Krchmar and children Kyler, Kat, and Charli of Grandview, TX; son Jeremy and children Jack and KJ of Kuna, ID; brother Michael and his wife Sharon Lynch of El Paso, AR; brother Steve and his wife Barbara Lynch of Beebe, AR; and sister Rachel

Wrigley and her husband Tim Karl of Sulpher Springs, TX; brother-in-law David Witte of Yuma; sister-in-law Kris and her husband Mike Cook of Pacheco, CA; bonus family Laura Svaty of Nampa, ID, and Tiffany Sprouse of Yuma; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Bessie Lynch and parents-in-law Clarence and Shirley Witte; and beloved pugs Doug, Pete, and Pugsly.
