Brenda “Holly” (Dresen) Metzler was born to Edward Roy Dresen Jr and Pamela Kay (Shaw) Dresen on July 2, 1968 in Yuma, Colorado. She attended Yuma schools until her graduation from Yuma High School in 1987.
Holly was preceded in death by her father, Ed Dresen, in 2002, and her mother, Pamela Dresen, in 2018. She is survived by her husband, David Metzler, sisters, Crystal (Dresen) Pickett and Tina Dresen, sons Zachery Dresen and Anton Bueltell, and daughter Corie (Scobee) Wordelman. She also has eight grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews, six great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Prior to being disabled, she worked as security for Cargill Meat Solutions, in Dodge City, Ks., a welder for Crustbuster/Speed King, in Dodge City, Ks., security at Boot Hill Casino in Dodge City, Ks., cook for Lane County Hospital in Dighton, Ks., and finally as an associate for Menards in Garden City, Ks.
Outside of work, Holly spent her time tending her plants, welding, and taking care of her family. She enjoyed being out in nature, out at one of the lakes near where she lived, or visiting some of the historical sites around Scott City, Ks., such as Battle Canyon, Monument Rocks and Little Jerusalem, in west central Kansas.
