Bernard Wall Obituary

Bernard Wesley Wall was born to Jesta M. (Tingley) Wall and Wesley “Bud” Wall in Yuma, Colorado on October 3rd, 1940. He passed away on April 1st, 2024 at 83 years old.

Bernard attended Yuma High School and graduated in 1958.  A few years later Bernard met the love of his life, Sandra Gale Anderson.  Sandy and Bernard got married on April 4th, 1961 in Yuma Colorado, and were happily married for nearly 63 years.  Together they raised 3 sons, Kevin, Scott, and BJ.

Among many of his talents, Bernard started his life with a carpentry and landscaping business.  He then purchased  Bud’s Flying Service from his father in 1973. Bernard and Sandy ran the business together until 1989.

After retiring from the spray plane business, he started a fabrication business and ran that until 2000.   He then had the opportunity to get back into doing what he always loved, flying spray planes.  He flew for Western Ag Air out of Joes, CO, and then Tri-County Ag of Wray, CO.

In 1969 Bernard’s lifelong friend Don Nau introduced him to his new passion, trapshooting.  He quickly excelled with his natural talent and became one of the top shooters in the state.  He was eventually inducted into the Colorado Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1995. Bernard traveled the country making many lifelong friends while trapshooting.

Bernard always loved playing cards and he became an avid poker player. His passion for playing cards began when he purchased the Yuma Pool Hall decades ago.

Bernard is preceded in death by his  father Bud, mother Jesta and sister Patricia Mumm and husband Darrel.

Bernard is survived by his wife Sandy; son’s Kevin Wall (Heidi), Scott Wall (Patricia), BJ Wall (Veronica); grandchildren Abigail Rahm (Jason), Zach Wall, Emily Fuller, Becca Wall, and Jenna Wall, their mother Terri Wall; great-grandchildren Madilyn Rahm, Jaxon Wall, Swayze Wall, Joslyn Rahm, and Maveryk Wall.  Bernard will be deeply missed by his family, extended family and many friends.  His passions live on through his children and grandchildren.

Celebration of life will be May 18, starting at 11 AM, followed by a Trapshoot and poker tournament in remembrance of Bernie.  Memorials preferred can be made to the Bernie Wall Fund at First Farm Bank 501 East 8th Ave. Yuma, CO 80759.
