Wayne Beauprez passed away peacefully December 3, 2020 at Banner North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley after battling COVID-19 at age 78, just a few weeks shy of his 79th birthday. Arnold Wayne Beauprez was born December 19, 1941 in Boulder County Colorado. He was the son of Marcellus (Jim) and Hermeni Beauprez. He grew up on their dairy farm and loved the farm life, working and tagging along with his brother Gene, and many Beauprez cousins.
He attended Louisville and Longmont High Schools where he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. Wayne graduated from Longmont High School in 1960.
In 1962 Wayne married Donna Fulton. To this union four boys were born. Adam and Grant were born near Longmont. In 1966 Wayne and Donna moved to Yuma to farm where Kent and Alex were born. Unfortunately Donna died of cancer on December 3, 1974. In 1983 Wayne married Kathryn Stirling. He had the four boys, and Kathy had a boy and three girls: Rick, Jennifer, Lindsay, and Cheryl. They adopted each other’s children and had a wonderful life together. On June 11, 1989 tragedy struck. Wayne and Kathy, while on vacation in Florida were in a motorcycle accident. Kathy died that day.
In 1998 Wayne married Marie Kinnison. Marie also had children: Candace, Tina and Brett. Wayne and Marie enjoyed a happy, stable life together working around Yuma, making a home and woodworking in their garage. They often enjoyed one banana split between them on a date night out at Dairy Queen. Wayne never turned down ice cream, coffee, mixed nuts or dessert.
Wayne was never idle for long. He worked in agriculture in various capacities for most of his life. After he stopped farming on his own, Wayne worked notably for Bill Wenger, Gene Beauprez and Fred Frihauf for many years. He also operated heavy equipment, helping to build a new runway at Stapleton, and a new antenna pad on Cheyenne Mountain among other projects. He passed his Commercial Driver’s License test at age 75, and enjoyed driving a fertilizer truck for Nutrien Ag Solutions.
Wayne survived two horrible motorcycle accidents and was twice a widower, but was an example to all, of someone that could smile and have a pleasant conversation despite tragedy in life.
