William "Bill" Hanson Obituary

William “Bill” Raymond Hanson was born on April 1, 1939 in Sterling, Colorado to William Elliot and Nancy Jo (Peterson) Hanson.  Bill passed away on August 9, 2019 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado, at the age of 80. 

Bill attended the Yuma High School and later Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 1961.

Bill married JoAnn (Cavin) Hanson on August 19, 1961 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  To this union, their daughter Juliann Hanson was born.  Bill and JoAnn were just short of spending fifty-eight years together. 

Bill was a Farmer and an Insurance Agent.  He served his country in the US Army. He loved his family and was very active in the Yuma Seventh-day Adventist church. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Hanson and his sister, Genevieve (Hanson) Mekelburg.  He is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Cavin) Hanson; daughter, Juliann Hanson; grandson, Nikolas Zlatev along with many other relatives and friends.

The memorial service was held on August 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Yuma, Colorado with Eric Nelson and Rex Bell officiating.  Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
