Virgil Warren Brandon was born November 1, 1940 to Orgile Claus and Myrle May (Cochran) Brandon in Esbon, Kansas. He passed away May 2, 2019 at the Yuma Hospital after battling multiple health issues.
Virgil graduated from Joes High School with the class of 1958. He married Loretta Jane (Fell) Brandon on December 16, 1962 in Vona, Colorado.
Virgil enjoyed bowling, working in his yard, tinkering with his cars and going on summer family vacations.
Throughout his years, Virgil worked for NAPA Auto Supply in Yuma for close to 20 years, then went on to work for Bonanza Ford in Wray. He ended his working career driving for Yuma County Express.
Virgil is preceded in death by his wife of 49-1/2 years, Loretta Brandon in 2012; his parents: Claus Brandon in 1973 & Myrle Brandon in 1978.
Virgil will be greatly missed by his 4 children: daughter, Debbie Brandon Olson & family of Aurora, daughter, Patty Brandon Longo & family of Brighton, son, David Brandon & family of Yuma, and son, Kenny Herron & family of Ft Morgan; 10 grandchildren, Wade, Caitlin, Becky, Zach, Devin, Krisy, Josh, Peyton, Dawson & Megan; 5 great-grandchildren, Kinslee, Kale, Greyson, Brooke, Mason and Carter with 2 more due in November, along with many extended family and friends.
The memorial service was held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Yuma, Colorado at 10:30am with Pastor Jamie Fiorino officiating. The inurnment took place following the service at the Yuma Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
