Phyllis Elaine Hill

Phyllis Elaine Hill was born to Glen and Velma (Sauer) Ellsworth in Roseland, Nebraska on July 5th 1934. Her family moved to Colorado when she was 6 weeks old. They lived at the Riley place south of Yuma, then the Hoch place outside of Yuma, and finally her family moved into Yuma where she lived until 1945 when they moved to Joes, Colorado.  She attended Joes School, where she graduated in 1952.  She met the love of her life Dean Hill at a church party and on April 15th, 1954 they were joined in marriage at the Nazarene Church in Yuma.  Dean was a member of the Air Force and they were transferred to Cheyenne, Wyoming where they were blessed with their first daughter Gloria in October of 1955.  They were then transferred to Fairbanks Alaska in December of 1955.  There they were then blessed with a son Gale in April of 1957.  They moved back to Cope in December of 1957 and moved to the place they still reside today in 1959.  Their family was blessed with 3 more children, Garold in July of 1959, Greta in December of 1960, and Garvin in August of 1962.

Phyllis loved to take care of her children and help Dean on the farm.  She also like to play the piano, read and cook.  Dean and Phyllis worked side by side on the farm until her health no longer would allow it, but she still stayed involved as much as she could.  She was saved and baptized at an early age and remained an active member of her church, Cope Assembly of God until her lord called her home. For their 40th wedding anniversary they were able to take a vacation and revisit their home in Alaska.  Phyllis said that was the first time she ever fished and what fish it was that she was able to catch. Dean & Phyllis celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in April of this year.  Phyllis was loved deeply by her family and was surrounded by many of them when the Lord called her home on June 10th, 2019.

She is survived by her husband Dean of 65 years.  Children: Gloria (Bobby) Heinrichs of Joes, Colorado, Gale (Linda) of Cope, Colorado, Garold (Sherry) of Kirk, Colorado, Greta (Steve) Easterberg of Plainville, Kansas, and Garvin (Susan) of Joes, Colorado. Grandchildren: Delette (Justin) Crisp, MaKeesha Moberly, Jennifer Hill, Stephanie (Dustan) Ricker, Christopher (Keysha) Hill, Tosha Hays, Toni (Josh) Bengi, Brady (Kayla) Hill, and Toby (fiancé Caralyn) Hill. Great-grandchildren: Izak, Elijah, Brodie, Kobe, Gunner, Madison, Kaylee, Kody, Aniya, Daymn, & Emerson. Brothers, Lew (Carolyn) Ellsworth and Les (Beverly) Ellsworth both of Sterling, Colorado. Sister-in-laws Janet Ellsworth of Eaton, Colorado, Mary (Herb) Davidson of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, and Nita (Paul) Phillips of Yuma, Colorado. Brother-in-laws Kieth Hill of Eaton, Colorado, Wayne (Amy) Hill of Colome, South Dakota, Roy Hill of Cope, Colorado, Harold (Wanda) of Conroe, Texas, Darrell (Connie) Hill of Briggsdale, Colorado, Gary (Jackie) Hill of Kirk, Colorado and many nephews, and nieces.

Preceded in death by: Parents: Glen & Velma Ellsworth, Father and Mother-in-law, George & Elsie Hill, Brother Howard, Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-laws, Rosie (Pete) Zimmerman, Elsie Hill, Alice Hill, Cleta Hill, Glen (Hazel) Hill, and Granddaughter Jesse Hill.

A memorial service was held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Yuma, Colorado on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. Then following the service a graveside was held at 1:30 P.M. at the Cope Cemetery in Cope, Colorado.  The services were officiated by Reverend Carl Euglow and Baucke Funeral home directed the service.
