Mildred Doretta (Meier) Dresen

Mildred Doretta (Meier) Dresen was born on November 5, 1917 to Henry Lawrence Meier and Mary Ann Card.  She passed away on November 5, 2018 at her home in Yuma, Colorado with her family at her side.  She passed away on her birthday at the age of 101.   

Mildred attended school through the eighth grade.  She married John Henry Dresen on October 7, 1933 and to this union seven children were born, Leyon, Wanda, Jerald, Carol, Annette, Delbert and Lorna.  Mildred and John spent almost forty-nine years together before he passed on April 19, 1982. 

Mildred will be remembered for her strength and being a wonderful mother, cook and friend.  She had one rule the noon meal was at 12:00 noon and you better not be late. She enjoyed raising her vegetables and flower gardens.   

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Meier; her husband, John; her son, Leyon Roy Dresen and and daughter, Wanda Dresen. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Hazel Drogen, Rena Cossey, Lawrence Meier and Dale Meier.     

Mildred is survived by her children, Jerald Dean Dresen and his wife, Loretta of Carlin, Nevada;  Carol Jean and her husband, Steve Dillon of Yuma, Colorado; Annette Lola Edwards of Williamsburg, Colorado; Delbert Cleo Dresen of Yuma, Colorado and Lorna Louise and husband Glenn Donley of Penrose, Colorado; along with thirteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren other relatives and friends.   

There will be a private family interment in the Yuma Cemetery with Pastor Jaime Nieves officiating.  Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
