Marilyn Homm Obituary

Marilyn Jo (Armagost) Homm returned home on October 15, 2019.  Marilyn was born on February 2, 1948 to Mervin and Roberta (Gilbert) Armagost.

Marilyn was the oldest of 6 children and grew up in and around Yuma, CO.  She graduated from Yuma High School and attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling where she met Richard Homm.  They married April 25, 1970 and made their home north of Burlington.

Together they had three children, Kristi, Cy and Robert.  As her kids grew up Marilyn was active at Burlington Christian Church, River 4-H Club, Kit Carson County Gymkhanas, and Little Britches Rodeos along with running Homm Insurance Agency.

Later Marilyn worked as a cook and waitress for BJ’s Restaurant in Burlington, as the front-end manager for Alco stores in Burlington and Yuma, and as a retail buyer and pharmacy tech at WB Drug in Burlington.

In addition to serving and helping people Marilyn loved spending time with family and friends.  After an early retirement Marilyn moved to The Manor in Yuma in 2016.  There she could often be found playing cards with friends.  She delighted in cheering on her 15 grandkids at ball games and school activities.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta and Mervin; sister, Peggy Gates; and her last love, Joel Franz.  She is survived by brother, Pat and wife, Jacque; brother, Jack; sister, Sandy Moore and husband, Steve; sister Hope Aaegson and husband, Mike; and their families; many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Also surviving her are her children, Kristi Arnold and husband, Chuck; Cy and wife, Stephanie; and Robert and wife, Debbie; her stepchildren, Justin Franz and wife, Gianina; Jolynne Hoyda; and Jasalyn Hays and husband, Casey.

As well as the lights of her life, her grandkids:

Melissa, Merisa, Caprise, Maguire, Tyrell, Truit, Lexi, Lance, Kade, Cody, Jack, Tennisen, Maddisen, Kagen and Wyatt
