Leota Jane Corman was born on August 19, 1923 in Otis, Colorado, and passed away peacefully on September 30, 2018 in Yuma, Colorado.
Leota was born to Raymond and Rose (Matthews) Bose. She was the middle child of three, older sister Virginia and younger brother Floyd (Bud) She attended Otis schools through the 11th grade. She married the love of her life, Raymond Corman on September 1, 1940. They joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1951. They were blessed with two children, Lucille in 1942 and Ed in 1945. Her family was most important to her.
They purchased a farm north of Otis in 1941 and farmed there for 21 years. In 1962, they moved to Yuma, built a new home and started an implement business south of Yuma. She worked alongside her husband for those years until the Lord called him home in April, 1970. She then went to work for Equitable for 2 years, then moved to Fort Morgan in 1973 and became a real estate agent and worked in insurance. She returned in 2004 to Yuma to be near her family and lived the past two and a half years at Parrish Care in Yuma.
Leota is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Rose Bose, sister Virginia and brother-in-law Bernard Allen, brother Floyd and sister-in-law Doris Bose. She is survived by her children Lucille (Roger) Koenig and Ed (Connie) Corman, grandchildren Jeff (Kelli) Koenig, Lynn Koenig, Darin (Michelle) Corman and Rhonda (Carol) Corman. Great-grand children Derek (Noelle) Corman, Dana (Devin) McCall, Emily (Jimmy) McGrath, Jeremy (Kate) Johnson, Jaden Koenig, Justin (McKenzie) Koenig, Kodi Koenig, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
Baucke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, and a family service is planned and will be officiated by Pastor Dennis Fitzpatrick.
