Janet Eileen (Stone) Schaefer

Janet Eileen Schaefer, age 83, Of Yuma, Co. was born July 6th, 1934 in Denver, Colorado to Benjamen Lawrence Stone and Gertrude Viola Rich.

Janet was married to Virgil L. Schaefer On April 6th, 1954 in Sterling Colorado.  Janet passed away on May 27, 2018 at Hospice of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

Janet was a loving mother. She enjoyed cooking, camping, dancing, singing, socializing with friends and family, attending church, and spending time with her family in the mountains. Janet graduated from Middle Park Senior High School in Granby, Colorado in 1953.  She was a member of the American Legion, Royal Neighbors of America, Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls.

Janet is survived, by her loving husband of 64 years, Virgil L. Schaefer. Children… Deborah (Guadalupe) Trejo, Cheryl Raichart, Charles Schaefer, Stanley Schaefer, Laura (Jesse) Mondragon, Brenda (Erasmo) Garfio, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren all who loved her very much.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, sister Joan F. Taylor-Reyna, son Virgil Schaefer Jr., and son in law Edwin E. Raichart, and 3 grandchildren.

A viewing service will be held, June 8th,2018 at Baucke Funeral Home 128 Ash St. Yuma, Co. 80759. Memorial Services will be held June 9th, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. at Yuma United Methodist Church 520 West 4th Ave. Yuma, Co. 80759. Officiating the Service will be Pastor Don Smith of Yuma Christian Church.  Reception to follow at Yuma United Methodist Church. Interment will follow reception at the Fleming Cemetery, Fleming Co.
