James William "Jim" Muths

James "Jim" Muths was born on February 7, 1942 in Haxtun, CO and died November 1, 2018 in Holyoke, CO.

   He attended school in Sedgwick and Haxtun and graduated from Haxtun High School in 1960.

   He married Frances Wettstein on August 10, 1963 in Holyoke, and to this union 3 sons were born:  Timothy, Paul, and Shawn.

   Jim worked several jobs before going to work for the CO State Hwy Dept. where he worked for nearly 20 years.  He also worked in agriculture, helping his father farm and eventually farming himself.

   In his free time, he liked working on various projects in his shop.  He enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors (especially old Ford tractors).  He also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, and was a member of the Rural Fire Board.

   He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Gertie Muths, his brothers Terry Muths and Ralph Unrein, and two infant sons Paul and Shawn.

   He is survived by his wife Frances; one son Timothy and wife Tammy of Fort Worth, TX; three sisters Clydeen Kaberline of Mesa, AZ, Janice Bornhoft of Atwood, CO, and Jo Dell Murray and husband Richard of Holyoke; and 3 grandchildren (John, Abigail, and Megan Muths).

   Funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Holyoke on Thursday, November 8th at 10:30 am.  Baucke Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Melissa Memorial Hospital.
