Dennis Elmer Mathies, 64, of Yuma Co passed away on October 12, 2019. He was born January 24, 1955 to Elmer and Dorothy Mathies in Yuma Co. Dennis graduated from Yuma High School in 1973. Shortly after graduating he married Linda Furrow.
They moved to Goodland Ks, where Dennis attended Northwest Kansas Area Vo-tech School in pursuit of a drafting degree, graduating two years later. They then moved to Garden City Kansas where he worked for a company and mapped out utility and sewer lines. After a short six months they moved back to Yuma Co. He found a job with Golden Plains Construction where he planned out buildings such as the Yuma Bowling Alley and the Washington County Shop. He later worked for KN energy as a service tech he earned his certification in HVAC and other appliance repair. He worked for them for 18 years before starting his own business, 3D Sales and Service. He named the business after his 3 daughters Dana, Alisa, and Kayla. He continued working until he was forced to retire due to disability from COPD. He battled COPD until he got a double lung transplant in April of 2018. Unfortunately due to chronic rejection and sickness he lost his battle and passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his wife Linda of 46 years; Daughter Dana Mathies, stratton Ne, Alisa Newton, Yuma Co, Kayla Denbo and son in law Dano Denbo, Akron Co; Grandkids Jerome, Issiac, Harmony, Genna, Annabelle, Alexis, Abbigail, Cortana, and Jaylynn.
Those preceding him in death are parents Elmer and Dorothy and brother Richard Mathies.
