Carolyn Kay Harouff was born on March 5, 1948 to Kenneth and Vera (Gardner) Harouff in Wray , Colorado and passed away August 1, 2018 at her home. She grew up south east of Yuma until 1966 when the family moved in to Yuma.
She attended the first 5 grades at Heartstrong a one room school house. Then was bused into Yuma where she continued her education, graduating from Yuma High School in May 1967. She then attended North West Nazarene University for a year and then went to Business School in Denver.
She Lived in Colorado Springs for a couple of years and worked for Walgreens. She worked for Citi Group a total of 27 years - 11 years in Denver and 16 in Las Vegas
She returned to Yuma in 2003 where she took care of her parents until there passing. During that time she worked part time for the Yuma Nazarene Church. Carolyn was always a very faithful member of the Nazarene Church where ever she resided.
She was a faithful member of the Yuma County Republican Women. Was on the Yuma Hospital Ancillary Board for many years and even traveled to State Conventions.
She also was able to travel many places visiting New York City, Washington DC, Switzerland, Austria and attended the Passion Play in 2010 in Oberammergau . She went to Spain, Portugal, and her last trip was a cruise around the Hawaiian Island in February. There were short trips to see Family and Friends in Washington, Oregon, Las Vegas, Kansas and Nebraska
She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Vera Harouff,
Grandparents William and Retta Gardner, Charles and Mable Harouff, Aunts and Uncles Ray and Doris Gardner, Opal and Ralph Doty, Edna and Loren Dickson, Jenon and Dale Harouff and Merle Gardner. Cousins and cousins in law - Gayle Harouff, Terri Gardner, Lee Gardner, and Shanna Gardner. She is survived by her Sister Nadine Harouff of Aurora CO, Aunt Hazel Gardner of Eckley, CO, Aunt Lillian Hays of Portland OR, Uncle Verlyn Gardner and wife Shirley of Broomfield CO, several cousins and many Friends.
A funeral service was held August 10, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Yuma, Colorado at 10:30 A.M. Burial followed at the Yuma Cemetery. Pastor Dave McQuisten officiated the service and Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
