Bill was born September 13, 1933 in Springfield, Illinois. He was the third of eight children born to Nelven and Mildred McMann Harris.  He passed away on August 12, 2017 at his home in Yuma, CO.

Bill will be remembered for being a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was known to have a kind and generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand.  He was a hard-working man who was skilled at driving everything from an army half-track to his 18-wheeler.  He could fix anything with a roll of duct tape, some bailing wire and a can of WD-40. He had a great sense of humor.  He often could not finish a joke because he’d be laughing so hard he couldn’t reach the punchline.

Bill was preceded in death by grandson William Dean (Billy) Pine; son-in-law John Pine; and siblings Don, Jim, Bud and Dorothy.

Bill is survived by his wife, Edie; daughters, Debra Pine of Yuma and Shelia Bullard of Enid, Oklahoma; sons, Wayne (Barbara) Harris of Colorado Springs and Derek (Johnna) Harris of Sterling; stepsons, Ted (Monica) Nelson of Hutchinson, Kansas and Douglas (Alma) Nelson of Buffalo, New York; grandchildren, Ryan (Sera) Bullard of Oklahoma City, Evelynn Harris and Kinsleigh Jerman of Sterling, Shelby (James) Arpin of St. Louis, Missouri, and Kaylee (Colton) Busick of Manhattan, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, William, and Jacob Bullard of Oklahoma City and Sydney Pine of Pueblo; siblings, Bob and Larry and Melva Harris of Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews.  Bill will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Buffy.

The graveside service was held on September 9, 2017 at the Yuma Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.  Pastor Jamie Nieves officiated the service and the arrangements were done by Baucke Funeral Home.
