Tony Anton Harms was born on October 18, 1953 in Akron, Colorado.  He was the oldest of five children born to John and Lila (White) Harms.  He passed away on August 19, 2017 at the Yuma District Hospital in Yuma, Colorado. 

Tony grew up as an Army brat and attended school in many different locations.  He married Arleen Martin on June 20, 1976 and to this union three daughters were born, Renae, Jeanie and Angela. 

Tony will be remembered for being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend.  He always saw the good in people and enjoyed working with the youth and the community.  He was a very hard-working man committed to Law Enforcement for twenty-eight years.  He worked in the oil field for ten years, then became a police officer in Yuma, Colorado.  He then went to college in Northeastern Junior College for an Associate’s Degree in Art.  Tony then became a deputy in Washington County where he advanced to Lieutenant. 

After retirement he focused on enjoying his family and hobbies.  Tony started his business called T’s Creation where he created custom pottery and glass engraving pieces.  He also took pride in serving the community as a council member for the City of Yuma. Tony other hobbie’s were building his cars, golfing and fishing.  He loved to sing along with the oldies, especially the Beach Boys.     

Tony is preceded in death by grandparents, Adolf and Edith Harms and Carson and Alice White; father, John Harms; Bob and Bobbie Blakely; sister, Ann Maggard; in-laws, Dudley and Mildred (Rudnik) Martin; brother-in-law, Randy Martin and granddaughter, Aleeya Bintliff. 

Tony is survived by his wife, Arleen (Martin) Harms; daughters and son-in-laws,  Renae and Alex Belobraydich of Littleton, Colorado; Jeanie and Mitch Sutherland of North Platte, Nebraska and Angela and Dustin Bintliff of Otis, Colorado; mother, Lila (White) Harms; brothers and sisters, LeRoy Maggard of Otis, Colorado; Fred and Sherry Harms of Nampa, Idaho; Lorry and Dave Creech of Dayton, Ohio; John and Laura Harms of Evergreen, Colorado; and Bruce and Paula Martin of LaCenter, Washington; grandchildren, Abigale, Olivia and Jaxon Belobraydich; Camron and Taylor Sutherland; Dominick Pacheco (Bintliff), Erick, Izeya, Xzayvier and Rosealee Bintliff; Dan and Mary Collins; Robert and Karen Furrow; Tony will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many close friends and the “Men in Blue” community. 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Otis High School Gymnasium with Pastor Scott Bieker of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. The inurnment will follow at the Otis Cemetery in Otis, Colorado. 

The family of Tony Harms wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Deming and Deb Wilkins along with the Yuma District Hospital doctors, nurses and staff and the Poudre Valley Hospital  doctors, nurses and staff for the loving care Tony received from them.
