Rosalie Alice (Armagost) Morgan was born in the family home in Eckley, Colorado on May 28, 1931. She died peacefully at the Hillcrest Care Center in Wray, Colorado on January 2, 2017 at the age of 85.

Rosie was the eighth and last survivor of the eight children born to Ralph and Pearl (Miller) Armagost.  Rosie grew up in the Eckley area and graduated from Eckley High School in 1949.

On June 9th, 1949 Rosie married her high school sweetheart, Howard Morgan.  To this union seven children were born, Lynette, Steve, Jeannie, Stanley, Linda, Willie and Crystal.  Stanley died in infancy.  In March of 1972 Lynette tragically left this world leaving behind her legacy in her son Clayton. Rosie and Howard later adopted him and raised him as their own.

Rosie and Howard raised their family in and around the Eckley area mostly farming and ranching. Rosie was a loving wife and a wonderful mother.  When Rosie wasn’t busy being a wife and mother, milking cows, and endless other chores, she took a job at the Wray Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She was a wonderful caregiver and all those whom she cared for or touched truly loved her. Rosie had a special gift when it came to caring for people of all ages.  Rosie furthered her career at the Wray Hospital by becoming a registered health information technician and worked at the facility for 37 years, retiring in April of 1999.  She touched many lives in her career in health care and will be fondly remembered for her kindness and compassion. Her caring heart didn’t stop with health care, anyone who knew Rosie appreciated her kindness and caring.

After retirement, Rosie enjoyed mowing and taking care of the Eckley Park, baking for her family and friends and was quite famous for her cinnamon rolls and popcorn balls.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents, her parents-in-law, daughter Lynette, son Stanley, siblings Jack Armagost, Bonnie Newton and Otto, Mervin Armagost and Roberta, Jenon Harouff and Dale, Dorothy Brophy, Ralph Jr. and Rex Armagost, brother-in-law Earl Morgan and Joan, sister-in-law Ilene Bueltell and daughter-in-law Sandy Morgan.
