Nadine Wave Beach was born to Fred Lammey and Lillie Yorgensen Lammey in Eckley, Colorado, on November 17, 1922.  She married the love of her life, Doral Beach, on December 5, 1940, and they began their life together on their farm in the sandhills south of Eckley.  During those years, they enjoyed their love of music and dance by participating in many square dances.  Nadine and Doral even taught square dance to 4-H students and took them all the way to State.  They experienced a devastating fire that destroyed their house in 1952 but rebuilt with the help of family and friends.  It is a well-known fact that Nadine has always been a strong and hard-working woman.  This was evident in the way she took care of the animals, made clothes for her four children, maintained a bountiful garden, canned fruits and vegetables, made jams and apple butter, baked delectable desserts, and cooked the most incredible meals.

Nadine loved her life on the farm and said more than once that she would have preferred to remain there forever.  However, in 1966, the family moved to Yuma, Colorado and bought The Beach’s 400 Motel on the corner of Highways 34 and 59.  They lived in and operated the motel for eleven years before selling it and moving across town.  Nadine loved to travel, especially overseas.  She and Doral travelled to Germany, England, Hawaii, and The Bahamas.

Sadly, on her birthday in 1978, Nadine lost her loving husband Doral. She never remarried, but her life remained full of family and friends.  She spent many happy years with her best friend and next-door neighbor, Francis Long, by her side.  Nadine continued to enjoy a productive and busy life.  She demonstrated many talents, such as quilting, needlepoint, crocheting, doll-making, as well as continuing her gardening, canning, and baking.  Nadine was also able to continue travelling by vacationing around the country with her children’s families.

Nadine was the loving matriarch of the Beach family for many years and would do anything to support them.  Her house was always full of love and laughter and was the home where each generation could always feel warm, welcome, and loved.  Despite her toughness, she was known to all for her kind and tender nature.  Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws and other family members loved and cherished her dearly and will miss her always.

Nadine was preceded in death by her husband Doral Beach, her parents Fred and Lillie Lammey, her brothers Cecil Lammey and wife Mildred, Marvin Lammey and wife Annabelle, and Leo Lammey and wife Lenora, and her great-great grandchild Amaya Kay Miracle.

Nadine is survived by her children Linda Blacker and husband Ron, Kathy Anzlovar and husband Charlie, Donna Gissel and husband Bob, and Richard Beach; grandchildren Nena White and husband Tony, Jackie Meininger and husband Ron, Tracy Morris and husband Kirk, Brian Blacker and wife Gertrude, Seth Park-Beach and wife Sung, Jeremy Beach, Sarah Wynn and husband Robert, Tyler Hardy, and Chelsea Wiebers and husband Mark; great grandchildren Angela Bonner, Amber Bonner, Andrea Lucero, Megan Meininger, Chantz Lake, Kaitlyn White, Nolan White, Katrina White, Kenzie Morris, Aaron Meininger, Zach Meininger, Brandon Blacker, Derek Marshall, Mariah Marshall, Dakota Marshall, Nathan Marshall, Myra Johns, Jeremiah Johns, Trinity Wynn, Max Park-Beach, and Lily Wynn; along with many special nieces and nephews.

Nadine passed away peacefully at Yuma Life Care Center on June 18, 2017 with her daughter Linda by her side.  The funeral service was held June 28, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church and was officiated by Pastor Jamie Nieves.  Baucke Funeral Home arranged these services.
