Jamie Ann (Maddox) Potter, 46, of Haxtun, Colorado passed away peacefully on Monday February 19, 2018 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Jamie was born February 14, 1972 in Sidney, Nebraska to Bill and Peggy (Watson) Maddox. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1990. She married Rick James Potter on December 10, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada, one of the couple’s favorite vacation spots. Jamie loved technology and worked as a web designer for her family car dealership, Maddox Motor Company, in Sidney. However, her real passion was makeup and beauty. Jamie was a Mary Kay consultant and created makeup tutorial videos that she shared on social media. Animals held a special place in Jamie’s heart, specifically her beloved dog, Bear. Jamie loved traveling with her husband Rick to Mexico, sitting on the beach, riding dolphins, and dancing. She also enjoyed shopping, reading, skydiving, cooking and baking, exercising, and spending time with family. Her wonderful cooking, especially her fried chicken, will be missed by all. Jamie is survived by her husband Rick of Haxtun, CO; stepdaughters Jaiden of Omaha, NE and Lexi of Greeley, CO; parents Bill and Peggy of Sidney, NE; sisters Kellye Hazlitt of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Kim Bruns of Fort Collins, CO; brothers Craig Maddox and sister-in-law Shea of Sidney, NE, Jarrod Maddox of Casper, WY, and Jeff Maddox of Sidney, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all the hearts she touched.
Please consider donating in honor of Jamie to Hospice of the Plains, whose nurses showed her great care and compassion in the final month of her life. Visitation will be from 11 am – 1 pm, Friday, February 23rd at the Haxtun Community Center. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Chaplain Deb Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Jarvis Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
