Dorothy Marie Korf
November 20, 1924 ~ November 11, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years OldDorothy Marie (Cooper) Korf was born to Valton and Bessie Cooper on November 20, 1924 in Estelline, Texas. She passed away at 3 a.m. on November 11, 2017, in Yuma, CO. She was the oldest of seven children (Dorothy, Vanita Hinde, Ray Cooper, Beaulah Miller, Marcellene Taft, Hassie Parzl, and Truett Cooper), and is survived by Ray, Marcellene, and Hassie, several nieces, nephews, great great-nieces, and great great-nephews.
Dorothy traveled extensively, finally settling in Yuma, CO, with her husband, Eugene Korf. Dorothy was generous and giving and willing to give a hand to anyone in need. It was very hard for her to say no to anyone who asked. A plaque at the hospital in Haxtun, CO, honors her many hours as a volunteer.
Her family remember her as being unconventional and living her life on her own terms and not being too concerned with what other people thought. She will be missed by her family and friends as will be her special style of being.
A funeral service will be held on November 16, 2017 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Yuma, Colorado. Pastor Don Lopes officiated the service and interment followed the service at the Yuma, Cemetery in Yuma, Colorado. Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
