Bette Lou Linnenbrink

1925  -  2015

Bette Lou (Covert) Linnenbrink was born on July 1, 1925 to Loyd and Virdie (Devlin) Covert in Lamar, Nebraska.  She passed away on December 20, 2015, at Regent Park at the age of 90.

Bette attended Phillips County High School graduating in 1945.  She married Frank G. Linnenbrink on October 2, 1948.  To this union five children were born, Dixie, Bart, Chris, Becky and Frank.  Bette and Frank shared fifty-one years of marriage before Frank passed away on October 31, 1999. 

Bette taught school for one year in District 1 southeast of Holyoke prior to their marriage; she was a bookkeeper for Suhr Implement.  Bette was active with many activities in the community. She served on the election board and as a judge and superintendent for the county fair.  She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and kept their books for 25 years.  She was a member of the Paragon Club, Jolly Dozen, Art Guild, QDD Club, FCE Club, Caring and Sharing and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  She was an excellent seamstress and after years of sewing she decided to take up painting as an enjoyed hobby. 

Bette was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents Virdie and Loyd Covert and sister, Virginia Leben.  She will be greatly missed by her children, Dixie Doughty and husband, George of Olympia, Washington; Bart Linnenbrink and wife, Jackie of Camino, California;  Chris Hefner and husband, Paul of Brush, Colorado; Becky Leicester and husband, Tom of Sioux City, Iowa; Frank Linnenbrink and wife, Lisa of Salinas, California; Grandchildren, Justin Hefner, Jennifer Leicester, Chad Linnenbrink, Jeremy Hefner, Liz Leicester, Alicia Linnenbrink Brenner, Matt Leicester and Quentin Leicester, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Winona Leben , Dola Link and sister-in-law Patti Hart along with numerous  other relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be held at Baucke Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There was a Rosary on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Baucke Funeral Chapel in Holyoke.  The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke, Colorado with Father William Jungmann officiating.  Interment will be at the Holyoke Cemetery.
