Amy Gay (Eastin) Baker

1967  -  2015

Amy Gay (Eastin) Baker was born on September 1, 1967 in Fort Collins, Colorado she is the daughter of Ronald Paul and Dorothy Mae (Franson) Eastin.  She passed away on September 26, 2015, at the age of 48, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado due to an aggressive cancer.

Amy attended the Yuma Schools and following her graduation from Yuma High School she attended a school for travel agents.  She was married to Calvin Baker on September 14, 1991.

She was employed at different jobs during her career.  She worked for Mary Rogers travel agency; Ken Roskop Tax Service; an aide for Greg Richards; Andrews Transportation Inc. in Texas for approximately twenty years.  After returning to Yuma she was the secretary for the First Southern Baptist Church, a job which she thoroughly enjoyed and loved all the people that she worked with.

Amy belonged to the 4-H Horse Club; enjoyed the flute while in school; and loved the thrill of a good old roller coaster ride every chance she had.

She was an avid fan of the Dinner Playhouse at the Heritage Square and enjoyed going as often as possible.  She turned them into family gatherings every chance she had the opportunity.  She knew several of the actors and actresses of the plays due to her frequent visits.

She loved to attend Craft Shows, selling scented candles and air fresheners that she had made.  She was a saved Christian with a strong faith and loved worship music.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ron Eastin; grandparents, Paul and Grace Eastin and Gunnar and Nell Ruth Franson.  She will be greatly missed by her mother, Dorothy Eastin; brother, Rod Eastin; nephew, Trent Eastin; niece Amber (Chris) Kline all of Fort Collins, Colorado; nephew Brandon Eastin of Pierce, Colorado and fiancée and dear friend, Stephen Henley who was in her life for the last few years and treated Amy very well.

The memorial service will be on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Yuma, Colorado with Pastor Chris Gilmore officiating.  Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
